Last week we had some visitors stay from South of the border, escaping the colder weather to experience our Sunshine Coast paradise. As it was a quick trip they wanted to find out the best things to do in Noosa. We had a rare weekend off delivering First Aid Courses so we encouraged them to do the following;

1. Go for a walk in Noosa’s National Park
Located at the eastern end of Main Beach and just off Hastings Street, the National Park has walks for every fitness type. If you’re feeling particularly active (or chasing waves) take the coastal track, there are great breaks and some even better look-out points along the way.

2. Take a dip and have a sip at the Surf Club
Just steps away from Hastings Street, Main Beach is the perfect antidote to a hot summer’s day. The beach is patrolled, and is fairly calm compared to the often washing-machine-like Bondi beach.
After paddling up a well earned thirst head up to the Noosa Heads Surf Club. Undoubtedly one of the best views of the beach, here you can enjoy a refreshing beverage and a seafood platter whilst watching all the beautiful people on the beach below.

3. Catch the river ferry
As if the beach wasn’t enough there’s also the sensational stretch of the Noosa River. Hop on a ferry at Tewantin and head down to Noosaville where you can hire a kayak / jet ski / or boat for the day. If you prefer to stay on the water and not in it, book a spot on the sunset cruise with BYO drinks and nibbles.

4 Shop till you drop on Hastings Street and recover with a cocktail
If you want to look the part in Noosa then you must wear Boardshorts or a Kaftan There are an abundance of boutique stores along Hastings Street shopping strip, so be sure to purchase some quality and fashionable labels whilst you’re in town.
After the shopping you should head to Bistro C. Right on the beachfront, try and score a table by the entrance and you will be set for the day. The cocktails are awesome (try the b-c, very refreshing) and the 3pm to 5pm tapas and cocktail menu is great value. They are also family friendly if you have little ones.

5. Ice-Cream or Gelato
For ice cream with a twist visit Nitrogenie in the Laguna on Hastings arcade. With different recipes daily this ice cream is super fresh and tasty, created by using liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze the yummy concoctions on offer. Otherwise why not refresh at Gelatissimo or Massimo’s (a Noosa institution)
Our visitors are already booking their return trip to Noosa within 12 months
